RHS Stim SPI Interface Cables
The RHS stim/recording system uses a standard interface cable and connector scheme to transmit serial
digital data and power over distances of several meters using the Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI)
protocol.
The following RHS Stim SPI cables are available from Intan Technologies:
- RHS 3-ft (0.9 m) Stim SPI cable (Part #M4563)
(formerly part number M3203)
- RHS 6-ft (1.8 m) Stim SPI cable (Part #M4566)
(formerly part number M3206)
Multiple cables may be daisy chained to span lengths of several meters (see table below).

RHS Stim SPI interface cables have self-aligning 16-pin
polarized nano connectors on each end. The wiring pattern supports daisy-chaining multiple cables
in series to span lengths of several meters. |
RHS Stim SPI Cable Adapter Board
The RHS Stim SPI cable adapter board (Part #M4430) connects to a Stim SPI cable
and brings out all 16 power and data wires to 0.1" pitch solder holes for easy access. This board may
be used to interface RHS Stim SPI cables with prototype devices. It may also be used to connect RHS Stim SPI
signals to a commutator, as described in the application note, Adapting RHS Stim SPI cables to a
commutator (see below).
Technical details on the Stim SPI cables and connectors may be found in the RHS Stim SPI cable/connector
specification (see below).
